I have a 2003 Yamaha 150TXRB with a 14 X 19 Aluminum prop. Currently running about 46 MPH at 5400 RPM's. I want to buy a SS and will use the aluminum as a spare. I found a couple deals an 14.5 X 17 SS that will fit this outboard. Since I'm going up in diameter and down in pitch, should my RPM's and speed stay about the same?

If it matters, I'm running a Crestliner 192 T/S

I would think you are going to lose speed.

I have played the prop game, None of the props that I was told to use worked. Three different props with the same number of blades and the same pitch all had very different results. I ended up with what most people said wouldnt work. In my opinion the only way to prop a boat is to make a list of popular props that are used on your exact hull and motor in your area and find a way to test each one on your boat before you throw out the money on one. I have a $450 prop brand new in a box that doesnt work well on my boat because I listened to a so called expert. It is a pain in the butt but buying a prop because it is a good deal may turn out to be an expensive "spare". Personally I would rather pay top dollar for one that is correct.
Try before you buy. Good luck.

Depending on the ss prop manufactor your probaly going to lose rpms and speed only a mph or two. You should find a 14.25 x 17 to get your rpms up and you should gain speed if you get your rpms where they should be.
