I was watching Fish'N Canada on TV today and they were fishing at a walleye camp called Pasha Lodge. They are up in Ontario near Jellicoe and Nakina. They were pulling out 5 pounders left and right. I was checking out their web site and they are open all winter for ice fishing and snowmobiling and stuff www.pashalake.com (http://www.pashalake.com)

Try the Nw Angle area of Lake of The Woods. about 6 hour drive from Mpls and you can stay at nice lodging and fish Minnesota and Canada.

Red River of the North and Lake Winnipeg, for numbers and HUGE walleye.

Do some snooping on the net once, see what is up with the bite this season.

In my opinion....there is no place better for a shot at a trophy of a lifetime, or two, or three....and a real shot at a new record walleye.

We got 28 over 30" on out last trip just a few weeks back..one 15.4...14.5...13.8 pounds...ect...ect...

My crew went last weekend and ices 225 walleye with a 5 lb average and a big fish of #14.6.

Contact Stu McKay at www.Catsonthered.net (http://www.Catsonthered.net) and tell him Backwater Eddy sent ya, he will hook you up.

Yeah, your best shot at good numbers and trophies is in the Winnipeg Manitoba area. The Red is really hot north of the city right now and for a change of pace you can run up and hit the big lake for some more eyes, big pike and perch. So many big eyes being caught right now. In addition there are lots of saugers, northerns, perch and the odd monster cat coming up through the hole. Stu Mckay is known to be the man for sure.

This year, across the Canadian ice belt, the stand out fishery (which is always good; but, for this season seems rediculous) is the Red River and the associated portion of Lake Winnipeg.

Read through the info and kewl video shot by Backwater Eddy on the thread "Red River Sumo Walleye and kewl video"

The fishing has been great around the area and the ice road makes alot of the Lake of the Woods accessible to the weekend fisherman. You can stay at one of the local hotels in Kenora and drive out on the ice road in the morning and fish where you like. If you would like to know anything else about the area, email me at rkolisnik@yahoo.ca or phone 807 468 3624. leave a number and i'll get back to you.
