I went truck shopping yesterday, and found a 2002 F150 that I liked and the best part my wife was in total aggreement that we needed to upgrade, my present truck has a topper on it and it is nice but if I want to hall something bigger than the topper it has to come and then store it kind of a pain. I am thinking of looking at some kind of bed cover, do not really want a fiberglass one not much lighter than a topper, I see there are number of roll up and modular flip up styles any comments on a particlar one would be greatly appreciated.

My boss and 2 co-workers have the black roll up covers, they attach to the tail gate, and they all like them, I have a high back fiberglass topper, and I like that.

I have a teckstyle roll up cover on my dodge ram. I have have three trucks in the past 6 years and I put one on every one. The first ones were with snaps and this last one is with little square "nobs" that snap intp the rail. This one allows you to take the cover completely off the truck if needed with out the hassle of messing with the front rail. I think I paid about 220 dollars for it and I love it.. Good luck

TRY THE ACCESS COVER. I HAVE ONE ON MY 2001 GMC. ITS PROBABLY THE BEST ROLL UP COVER I'VE SEEN ON THE MARKET. I'M IN THE AUTO BUSINESS AND I SEE A LOT OF COVERS AND BY FAR THIS IS THE BEST ONE OUT THERE. IT GOES ON IN ABOUT 1/2 HOUR, ROLLS UP WITH EASE, VELCRO ATTACHMENT DOWN BOTH SIDES, ALUMINUM SUPPORT BARS UNDERNEATH, AND A LOCKING FEATURE. NO SNAPS TO WORRY ABOUT AND IT IS VERY HEAVY DUTY.THEY HAVE A WEBSITE, I BELIEVE IT'S WWW.ACCESSCOVER.COM. DON'T KNOW IF THATS IT FOR SURE. MOST AFTERMARKET ACCESSORY STORES CARRY THEM -- HOPE THIS HELPS.

I am about to pick up my F150 supercrew and I have been trying
to find the same thing. I saw some of the roll-up type covers
that worked like a window shade but they were a little pricey
they were from 795.00 and up. If you find something that you like
let me know.
good luck

I'll second the Access cover. Simple,durable and rolls up tight to the cab when you want it out of the way. cw

I'll third the access cover, you pay a little more but you get what you pay for. You can actually use it in the snow and ice with no problem. For sure don't get one with slides on the side, they freeze up in winter and you can't get them open.

Go with the Access cover you will never regreat it. Best by far in my book and you can get a lock for them if you want. Has velcro all the way down the sides and rolls up easy. Jim

I didn't see a mention of the fact that you can open your tailgate with the cover still deployed. And you can open the cover with your tailgate closed. Also looks better than others as it is flat and smooth no snaps to deal with in the winter or other wise. Have mine a few months now and don't miss the topper.

Okay a question for all you guys with these Access Covers. How long have you had them and do they keep everything dry inside the box. Also how about the sun fading these things. Sorry more than a couple of ?'s. I know the old vinyl covers were crap. They would fade and sag and didn't seel the box very well.
Thanks for the any info.

I have had my acess cover two years now. I don't notice any fading and the cover is still tight as the day I got it. Things stay dry in the back. I won't buy another topper.

Thanks for the replies, a couple of freinds have the Acess Cover and like them, I did some investigating and found a nice unit at Waldochs called Truxedo, looks similar to the Acces Cover but with a few improvements, lifetime warrenty, inside lock release, and a sprng loaded tensioning device,check out www.truxedo.com
