Ice is good around Catawba, bite has gotten tough, was better earlier last week, but a lot of big fish being caught.

I went out yesterday early. Out about 2.5 miles of Catawba. Landed 3 walleye. Weights were 4, 8 and 9 lbs. Lost 4 more. Bite disappeared after 11. Ice was 14 to 18 inches, people everywhere.

which basin are you fishing? I fish the south end of lake Winnipeg in Canada and I believe it is a lot like part of Erie. Flat and little structure. Just curious as to how you guys fish them there.

We jig with large swedish pimples tipped with minnows or jigging rapalas.
