I have a '08 619vs. Thinking about adding the casting platform to it for certain fishing trips. Anyone had any experience with these?

Yes, it's a great way to fish. It makes moving around the boat a whole lot easier.

Yep, I've got one for my 07 619. It is nice to have when bass fishing. However there is no seat for a third person when you have the rear casting deck insert in place. You also gain alot of extra storage for the day under the rear casting deck. I might also add the times we fish 3 or even 4 out of the boat there is plenty of room for two on the front deck and we have stood on the back storage compartments and livewell lids without a problem. So..............can you do without it? Yes, you can. But it is nice to have.

Just wondering how does the deck attach so it does not blow out?Has anybody made one instead of ordering it from Ranger? How well did it work? Thanks

It attaches from undernieth. On my buddies 04 there are bolts that go into the side area by your storage compartments. It's very solid. I have also seen one that had turnbuckles under it attaching it to the floor. i don't know if that one was homemade or not.

To answer your question, I do not see why you couldn't make one out of 3/4" plywood and brace the heck out of it undernieth.

Just bought one for my 07 620. Havent installed it yet, but there are 4 small square brackets you need to mount on the boat, then 4 brackets that install on the platform. To attach they give you mounting bolts that have knobs on the ends that mount the platform to the boat. Also provided is a pole that mounts into the center hole on the floor, just like a seat pole. This adds support to the center. They also give you a seat base to mount a seat on top. NOTHING is predrilled, including the seat base. No directions were provided with mine, but a quick call to Ranger, and they E-mailed a diagram. Looks like a nice product, will install it in a month or so. Approximate price was $550..
