I am looking for new rod holders. I am a fan of the Ram Mount 2000, but what do you guys like? Also what about while traveling? Like Rod Savers, those bungee cords, and rod rachets?
Thanks,
Auggie
Take a good look at the Folbe Rod Holders. I've had them for 4 years, and they work great for eyes, and for muskies.

Check out Berts. http://www.teclausa.com/bert/ 2 types of tube holders and also a cradle, depending on what you are looking for.

Does anyone use the Folbes rod holders with spinning rods and reels? When I am vertical jigging, I also like to have a dead stick out. I really like the looks and how these rod holders work. Thanks.

I sometimes use my Folbe when using a spinning rod. When I'm at the bow, trolling crawler harnesses, I'll put one rod it the rod holder while I hold my other rod. Never could fish 2 rods at one time. The Folbe's will work just fine, IMO.

I have to go with Bert's also. They can cover any boat with their products. Rail system, tracks, gimble, tube and craddle, all kinds of products. Like Matt D said, check out there web site.

Another vote for the Folbe. I use them with all styles of reels.... They are by far the best I have used for walleye....and take big hits well from big northerns and muskies.....

Those Folbes look great! I would like to get them for my 2002 Lund that I just picked up.
My question for you guys is what track system do you like for these. I looked on the folbe web site and say the track system they used in the video but did not see any on the site to purchase. Your help is appriciated.
Thanks

fisher_I_am, does your Lund have the Sport Trac system? If so, I highly recomend mounting your rod holders to the brackets for it. You can move you rod holders anywhere that suits your needs.

no sportrak system, it an 02 angler 1700. Can I install them on it? or do I need to pursue a track system for top of the gunwale

I don't think you can add the Sport Trac system if it does not have one now. Not 100% sure though. Maybe T-Mac can answer that one. Not sure either if the Folbes will work with any track system that is out there. From what I have and what is available, I believe it's side or flush mount. You may want to install a couple of extra mounts per side when you decide what you want to get. That way, you have the ability to move your rods around depending on how many you are fishing and what kind of spread you what if you're using boards.

this was good information. thanks guys. i'm also looking to put rod holders on my boat for steelhead. will the folbes hold up with those types of strikes?
Jinx,
Folbe's were designed by salmon anglers in the NW. If they can survive a strike from 70lb+ salmon, they will handle just about anything. That must be a violent strike, eh? I use them for muskies, too. No problems. I caught a 52.5" muskie last fall. 40 lbs, and the rod holder did it's job. This will be my 5th year with them, and I think they are the best rod holder I have ever used.
Not sure what track system to use. Berts has some universal adaptors that you can attach the Folbe mount to.
