Van Hook camping sites

I plan on fishing the VanHook area in June. I checked the net for camping sites on the river. Are there any such camping areas in the Deepwater Bay area? Primitive is Ok. Thanks in advance...

there are very nice campsites on the north end of the van hook arm. It is in the cabin community of Van Hook itself. Great area, has bait shop, showers, elec., and an awesome restaurant a mile or two away. The location is in the very far north end of the arm. If you look on a map and find highway 8 that comes south from Stanley ND. Where highway eight stops and goes east, you go straight south about a mile to the area. For reservations call 701-627-3811. You also have easy access to the river in New Town if the wind gets too high for the arm.

There are two places to camp in Deep Water Bay and both are near boat ramps. The fishing is good at that time of year in the bay. If you want to fish the Van Hook Arm, I'd suggest camping at either Parshall Bay or Van Hook itself. The facilities are better and it's easier to get bait, gas, food, etc. Good luck. JC
