looking for a family fishing lake to stay on for a week in central minnesota area Alex or Willmar area would be best but any other ideas would be helpfull .
have two girls so would like to caught stuff THANKS

try pelican lake by Ashby, Mn grew up catchin sunnies out of that lake.

Well,
I hate to sound like a "broken record" but look into the Brainerd/Nisswa area...Fantastic panfishing on Gull Chain..especially Margaret, Gull and Upper Gull. I have seldom found sunnies bigger and more plentiful year around than on Gull...Crappies in Margaret are plentiful and good sized...Oh well, getting antsy just typing this
I would recommend Lake Andrew by Alex as my first choice for crappies and sunnies. Also good walleye, bass and northern. Two nice resorts with roped off sandy swimming areas and beaches. They are Lake Andrew Resort and Cottage Grove Resort. Don't know if they have any openings so call soon. Good luck!
