Hey all.....
headed out this morning....to meet up with Glenn...in coby and set out for lake of bays to meet up with
ratherbe, robb2126 and lonewolf602
after a quick pit stop in Norland for bait....from James...we headed north
we arrived about 9am to find the others already at it...
first things first I punched 5 holes near shore in case we tired of laker and whitie fishing and wanted to try some speckles
later on in the day....
the first thing I noticed was the ice conditions were crappy considering all the cold temps we have been having...
there was a layer about 3" of whiteish ice then about 3" water....followed by 4 to 5" of clear ice on the bottom of things....
certainly not what we had expected....and very little snow on the ice....
WARNING::::::
as a side note for those thinking of hitting the bigwin area....play it safe with these warm temps we have coming up...
in the next few days...the 3" whiteish top layer was almost gone by the end of the day and we were breaking thru it...
in spots on the way off....you guys may want to wait until there is more cold in the forecast
the temps were on the plus side.... plus 6 to be exact when we left at 6pm....
the winds were strong and steady for most of the day and we got some drizzle....but only a little bit...
compared to the minus 18 I fished earlier this week it was balmy...but the cold wet feeling still gave us some chills with the strong winds....
we fished approx. 50 feet of water ......where ratherbe, rob2126 and lonewolf602 were set up... and it wasnt long after glenn and I got there....the action started for us...
here is my first of the day.....

everyone was catching....for the most part the fish came in waves all day....with only a few lull periods....
and quite a few of the lakers were light biters....lots of hits and misses as well....
it was glenns first trip of the season and he was first to limit out...
