View Full Version : Cure for Cabin Fever!
You can watch the first FLW Tour event today at Lake Guntersville live from the FLW Outdoors website. It's the first event for the Fantasy Fishing Leagues.
http://www.flwoutdoors.com/flwlive.cfm?type=bass
Just log in and click on the "watch now" button. The buttons should become active one or two hours before the weigh in begins.
It's a good way for those tournament anglers who are looking for a little release from the winter blues to spend the afternoon.
Good luck to those who are "competing" in the FF game.
I'll bring the :popc1: ;)

I have 4th, 6th, 9th, 13th, 21st, 29th, 58th, 67th, 89th, and 142.

Anyhooo...how did your picks do?

That's awesome Klino! I hope your picks keep doing well. You COULD win 100,000.00!
I only have 4570 in points...hubby had an exacta...not me.
I hope my other picks who are just out of the top 10 move up today. I would like the FLW to send me another check. It's always nice opening up the mailbox to find free money inside. LOL
Good luck everyone!

My guys are currently in:
2, 7, 11, 19, 21, 29, 35, 54, 79, & 120th
Poor Brent Ehrler (one of my picks) was on the bubble and got bumped out of the top ten right at the end of the weigh in. :(
Oh well, at least I still have two in the top ten. :)
How did the rest of your picks do?

5449 points
My points dropped from 4570 to 3633. :(
I can only hope the two I do have left end up in the right spots. But, I don't even know if that will be enough to land one of the prizes.
Anyone know how far down they are paying this year? Last year it was something like 585 places, or something like that. I haven't searched their site that closely to find out....thought maybe one of you would know....?

Thanks. They really reduced the number of payouts and the number of really good prizes.
There are more players than last year, but fewer prizes...I don't like the chances anymore. LOL
I'll still play, just because it's fun and it's something to do. :)
Maybe next year will be better again.

How are you guys seeing points or standings? I picked me ten guys but when I go to the page their is no points for then showing up. I just started fantasy fishing this year so maybe I didn't do something right.

When you go to the FF page, and log in.... click on the link for "Lake Guntersville" next to the list of your picks, or you can click on the tab for "edit my team". Either will take you to the page where you "edit your team"/"save your team". (you can only edit up till the deadline date though).
You will see your score there.

Ok, Thanks for the help. I have 5062 points with Cantebury and Dudley in the top 10.
Dang, I just read the scoring rules again. You only get the extra 4000 points for picking the winner...not if one of your picks ends up in first.
So, i guess I can only hope that my picks tank and end up in their exacta spots. lol (nice, eh?)
Oh well....no prizes for me this time around, I'm sure.

Put a team together at the last minute and did quite well. Had an exacta on 1st and 3rd. I Have 8.963 points, and finished in the top 303. The results must not be tallied yet. I don't expect much after looking at past results, my guess is that I am somewhere close to 303.

Kentucky man wins $100,000 in Fantasy Fishing game
Last-minute entry lands auto-parts production worker big prize; FLW Fantasy Fishing kicks off race for $1 million grand prize with first tournament of 2009 season
Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, 11:06 AM
MINNEAPOLIS — To win FLW Fantasy Fishing, or any contest for that matter, you have to enter. And entering at the last minute counts just as much as if you entered days, weeks or even months before.
That's what Terry Moberly, 45 – a resident of Berea, Ky., a small town near Lexington – learned. On Feb. 11, with less than four hours until the closing bell on FLW Fantasy Fishing picks for the first tournament, Moberly registered at FantasyFishing.com. Using Player's Advantage, an online tool that provides "inside" information about FLW Tour bass pros, Moberly picked 10 anglers from among a field of 157 that would compete the very next morning in the first of six tournaments that make up the Walmart FLW Tour, professional bass fishing's largest and most prestigious tournament circuit.
Moberly, an avid bass angler, was urged to enter FLW Fantasy Fishing by his two sons: Tyler, a student at Eastern Kentucky University, located in nearby Richmond, Ky.; and his 19-year-old son, Brandon. Both sons are avid bass anglers too, having competed in regional bass tournaments sponsored by FLW Outdoors.
The rest, they say, is history. Today Moberly is $100,000 richer, proving once again that old adage, “You need to enter to win.”
Dang! Sounds like that was FATE, more than luck or knowledge. LOL
WOW! 12k+ points? Sheesh...I think I'd better take a harder look at my next picks.
