Does anyone use this line? I've been reading all about the expensive high end lines but never about the trilene maxx and wondered if anyone even uses it. I have been using it myself the last 3 years and couldn't be happier. It is basically a mix of the trilene xl and xt line. I use the 8 pound line and have been able to pull up 20 pound plus paddlefish with it and the knot strength is great. Before that, I was using trilene sensation and that is absolute junk the knot won't even hold on a simple tug of the line.

I used it for making harnesses. I don't like that it has too much memory. Knot strength isn't the best either.

That's true. I've had my knots fail on me sometimes, but never with a fish on, mostly just snags that broke off too easily. Best line i've used to date though. What kind of line would u guys recommend?

Try McCoy Mean Green mono. Durable, good knot strength, not as stretchy as xl; not as stiff as XT.

I tried the Trilene Maxx line last year, also in 8#. However the 8# Maxx is a very thick line it's at least as thick as a lot of 10# lines on the market. All I want is a mono that's limp, behaves well, has good strength, can tie a good knot, with MINIMUM stretch & without paying $80 for a jumbo spool. Obviously, I did not go with Maxx this year. I want back to XT in a lower poundage class with Cabela's fluoro leader material. I'm also trying the 8# Maxima ultragreen this year. I'll let you know the results later on.

Good luck,
