K-dog,Can you give me some info on joining your club.I looked for your booth at Eastwood fishing show but didn't see you.I end up fishing a lot by myself.Want to meet some people to learn from and fish with from time to time as well as get in to some tournaments.I live in Newton Falls.Do you have a website? goose925
Goose,
You can pick one of our tournament schedules up at Gander Mountain or at most bait shops in the area.Joining a club is a great way to meet people and learn different techniques and learn our local lakes. Our club membership is only $10 per year and tournaments are $60 per 2 man team including big fish pot.We have a monthly meeting i believe tomorrow at Ravennae Marine, unfortunately i have to work and wont be there. If you need any more info email me at Kdog2hunt@aol.com

Too bad that your club claims members that just participate in your your tournaments. Anyone who fishes one of their tourns. MUST join the club and is claimed as a member. Not exactly fair to those who are loyal to one organizaton, Cabela's likes the number of members though. The club I am with fields about half the members each tournament, does yours field 100?
Flatseyetaker,
At $10 per year for a membership i really dont think thats asking too much. Our organization is a non profit organization and any money that is generated is just going back to the members.Personally i dont know a cheaper walleye organization to join,do you?We have 2 open tournaments a year, one a charity tournament where i believe half the proceeds are donated to a charity, the other tournament just open to anyone to see if tournament fishing is for them. This will be our 4th year in existance and we are almost at 200 members, not bad.I dont believe we have ever had a 100 boat field, but i know we've had a few in the 80's.Thats over half members fishing cause most boats are fishing 2 members per boat. What club do you belong too,i may be interested in fishing a few of your tourneys if they are in Ohio, our tourneys wrap up at the end of June.Tight Lines,Kdog(KeithWalters)

Have been a member of WWWA since the first tounament, I usually try to fish the full schedule every year. Its a great way to fish some of northeast Ohio's best walleye waters and for only 10 bucks a year for membership and 30 bucks a man for each tounament, you can't beat it. The club continues to grow every year, along with the competition. The guys are really great who run the club and also the volunteers who help out. Last year I think we average around 40-60 teams per tournament, and this year will probably be bigger. I really like the club, it puts a little excitement in my fishing season, competing against some great walleye fisherman, it shows you how good of a fisherman you are and where you may need to improve. I think that is why the club was started , to have a little healthy competition and to help guys become better walleye fisherman. All I can say is give it a try.

Kdog. I was unclear about tournaments. I am only refering only to the Cabela's Qualifier. I don' thank it's fair to charge a membership fee for that one. Every other club in the state made it "open" for the one they hosted. I know some guys that came to fish it and now there name is on your membership roster. Alot of guys, myself included, take pride in being a member and representing 1 club. It awesome to watch a club grow from a few members at the start to a great group of fisherman and friends.
Your club is very affordable but it's not the 10$ for me, in fact I would like to see a high dollar series in this state similar to MWT. The interest is just not there and it would take a PWT guy to put his name behind it. We have the lakes and the fish to do it, not to mention, there are some incredible fisherman. It seems like 20 boats is the norm, and that just not enough to get endorsements and tournament sponsers to back the events.
I am a member of Western Ohio Walleye Club and am proud to represent them while spreading the word and promoting the sport we all love. I look forward to fishing with you and hope you can make it down to our tounaments. I know your club is a very tight group and a well run organization. I have fished many Jim Breedlove tournaments and know he trys hard to run a good tournament.
I would come up there and fish your tournaments but McGowen and Adler always take my $$$$lol Take Care
Good Fishing, -Kevin

I too have been a member since the club was founded. We travel over from Pa.I don't know of a nicer group of fisherman and women that you could get involved with.Even though they are all buckeyes.lol.We take our share of ribbing being keystone trout fisherman, but it's all in fun.Jim Breedlove runs a professial tounament and everyone is friendly and open with you. There is also some darn good fisherman competing regularly as well.Come on in and give it a try. The lakes that are on their schedule are loaded with walleye. ps Hey Kdog hows it going. This is the last week for walleye over here.We will have to head your way for some of those tasty squito eyes.See you in April Frank Mcfeaters.

Another plug for walleye clubs and walleye tournaments. I've learned as much in the 3 years I have fished the WRWA tourny's as the 30 years I've been fishing on my own or maybe it took 30 years to have it sink in.
Lucky Terry,
I truly believe its taken 30 years for all walleye info to sink into that thick cranium of yours and that the true reason why you've learned sooo much in the last 3 years is that you've been fishing with the me,LMAO.And if your such a lucky guy why the ##### dont you ever catch any BIG fish, lol.Lucky my ARS!..See you at the meeting tonite and i still have room for one more on the boat tomorrow, looks like a nice day.I'll be thinking of you when im reeling in them slab crappies and walleyes!!TightLines,Kdog

Lucky terry, how's it going? I'm doing good.We just had our first baby girl back in november. She has been taking alot of our time but Oh what a feeling to be a father.I tried talking to kdog but I guess he doesn't love me anymore.lol I don't know if I will be fishing the comlete schedule this year but we will get over your way sometime this year.Well I just heard the dinner bell gotta go. Talk to you later.Good luck this year,Frank McFeaters.By the way I hope this is terry h.If not oops.
Frank,
Congrats on the baby girl,my first born was a girl and you just wait to see how she becomes daddys little princess, lol.Sorry i didnt respond very quickly but just wait till you have another if you think one is takeing alot of time,,,,like adding more fuel to the fire. But there worth every second.I have mine brainwashed allready that daddys the best fisherman in NE Ohio and that walleyes are the greatest thing since.....a Daiwa line counter and trolling rod, lol.Hope to see you at Mosquito and good luck this year and with your little one.By the way that is Terry,,,,,but i dont know where the "LUCKY" came from!!!See you soon,Kdog(KeithWalters)
Goose,
Glad to see your a new member and that you made it to the meeting.Murph and Darin gave a very good seminar and when its a jig bite those boys are tough to beat!Getting back to your question reguarding your partner not being able to make the first tournament i believe you have 2 options.1)Fish by yourself but it would still cost you the regular entry fee i believe or.2)you can have 1 person as a fill in for any tournaments your regular partner cant make but there may be some stipulation.Im not sure exactly how this works ,luckily my partner and i have fished every tournament together. If you need a partner for the entire year i would suggest maybe calling Jim Breedlove and he mite be able to help you out there.Usually guys try to pair up with guys that fish alike,,,,,jig guys with jig guys,,,and a couple of trollheads together. If you call make sure you ask him about the replacement partner thing because im not exactly sure how that works......Hope this helps goose,TightLines,Kdog(KeithWalters)

Hey kdog, everytime I tell my daughter that I am the best darn fisherman in Pa. she blows bubbles at me.Maybe she knows more than I think already.I keep getting into trouble though.I have to tell the wife I don't know why the baby sticks out her tongue or no I don't know how the icecream got on her face.hehehe We're really having a great time with her and I can't believe we waited this long to have one.Chip and I are heading to pymatuning in the morning, maybe I will have something to post tomorrow.I'll talk to you later.I can't believe I missed a murph and darin jig seminar. Can I copy your notes?lol Frank Mcfeaters.
