Got into a discussion the other day with some fellow fisherman about pre-fishing tourneys, how much time it pays to pre-fish. I have the best results fishing the day or two before the tournament, I think the weekend before is to far away, what do you guys think??

I try not to fish my Spots a few days before the event.......and I try to find Not the location but more like the depth and Stucture, so I know what to look for on the actual day............but I fish whenever I can, so a lot times Prefishing is just another excuse for me to get out again. ......hehe

I pre fish as much as I can even a weekend or two before the event, different pattern prevail at different times of the year so at least you can elimate something and something is better than nothing, every day closer to the event I try to dial in the presentation not just the baits but speeds, colors, etc. and eliminating water is just as important as finding fishable water holding the right fish.

I prefish as much as I can right up until the tournament the last couple days before the tournament are spent looking for new spots using the patterns I developed earlier in the week.
