Hey guys!

I am again taking a few of my co-workers to Chamberlain the spring and need some advice.... Last year several of you helped me out with some local hot spots and I hit several of them. We caught several fish in the 12" to 14" range but after 3 days I was only able to send 3 or 4 home with the guys. Now keep in mind these guys I am taking this is there one fishing trip for the year.... I am not looking to get them into 10 pounders or anything I just want them to have a nice bag of fish to take home.

My question is,
I see people fishing around the bridges most of the time and am wondering what presentation they are using? Logically I would think vertical jigging? I have spoke to a few guys local and it sounds like the smaller fish are the normal around there right now. Do any of you have a tip or two that you wouldnt mind sharing to try and show these guys a day or to of good fishing in these waters? I fish mostly local lakes and have a good system for here but am a little out of my elliment on the river.

Thanks for any input!

Hi Jason, What time of the spring are you planning your trip? I can give you a few ideas if I know when you will be there.

You really should drive a little farther North to Oahe, You'll get your fish there.....

As much as I love LFC, I'm with Reelman and Dutchman.. If I wanted a June slam dunk,(especially, with friends or guests) I'd go to Pierre!

I agree with all the others Oahe will be your best bet, especially in June the fishing is unbelievable.

P.S. . My offer for tips still stand if you can convince your co workers to go to Oahe. It definitely is worth the extra drive.

Thank you guys!

I will see if I can sway them. I think they have made the reservations already though:-(

If you already have reservations in Chamberlain, you may want to drive north to Lake Sharp to put your boat in. Sharpe has been good the last few years in June.

If you and your buddies want to catch short, skinny fish stick with Chamberlain...if you want to catch lots of big fish on one of the Midwest's premier fisheries cancel your reservations and head to Oahe and never look back.

There are a bunch of resorts on Oahe that have good deals, check them out. You may get lucky and find a place as I have always seemed to get lucky and get a reservation within couple weeks from when I go there. If you want some ideas of which resorts on Oahe, pm me and I will give you the name of some resorts to check out that I have been too, all have been good to me.
