Does anyone know if there are any issues with running two transducers on the transom? I recently purch a new Lowrance 522c and still want to run my old Humminbird unit as well. Will one mess with the other?

Any help/comments would be much apprec.

Thanks,

yes, they will interfere with each other.

Thanks. I wanted to keep the other because of the analog speed indicator. I guess I'll have to break down and get the speed sensor for the 522.

What is the frequency of the Hummingbird? They may not interfere too badly, if at all, if the frequencies are different. I'd try it and see.

I run both a Lowrance 112 and a Humminbird 1197SI

I have then ~ 6 ' apart and do a good job of not interfering.

But Scouting with the SI I can turn off the Lowrance 112. Then Fish with both or Just the Lowrance 112.

The Structure you can find is just awesome. Would never be with out either. Will be neat to see Lowrance Side finder later this summer, may not need the humminbird with the HDS units

The humminbird has a duel cone, 20 degree and 60 degree. Its the 565 model. The new 522 has the 20 degree cone. I'll probable just get the analog speed sensor for the Lowrance and move the humminbird to the bow.

Thanks guys.

You say the Humminbird has a dual cone transducer, If that's the case, each cone angle operates at a different frequency. Just run the Humminbird on a different frequency from the Lowrance.

The 522 should have GPS speed display, no?

The 522 has gps speed display. Will it work well at slow speeds for trolling?

Perhaps no need for the analog speed indicator?

Absolutely, the GPS will be accurate at low speeds, most likely it'll be much more accurate than any speed wheel or similar analog device.

What Slim said.

Way cool, less stuff to buy and less stuff to mount on the boat. I always did have misgivings about drilling holes in perfectly good boats.

Thanks for the light bulb moment!
