I would suggest that you purchase an ontario fishing license as well. I get both just in case, not so bad in the south end of the river, but the north end is a little tricky and wouldn't take that chance.

You must have a Canadian license if you fish that side.

If you are fishing the co-angler side, either buy all three in advance or SURELY ASK THE PRO the night before what you need. I would surely recommend, in advance, the Michigan and Ohio licenses. But over several days of fishing, you most likely will utilize all three.

You can call the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources at (519)354-7340 and ask them to fax you an application. Fill it out and fax it back. They will mail your license to you. You will need to act ASAP because it may take 10-14 days.I would also get an Ohio license as Ryan pointed out. There are some places in Mich. that you can purchase an Ohio license. I believe Cabelas is able to sell Ohio licenses. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

There are only 2 places that are quite easy to get licences in Windsor for an Ontario licence. Wallys Bait on Sandwich St, just under the Ambassador Bridge and Edgewater Baits, it is located across from Peche Island and is pretty much only accessed by the water. Wally's number is 519 256-2841.

The Ontario fishing lic. can be bought online at www.lakesidefishingshop.com

It's 49.00 for an annual non-res. sportfishing lic.

It's another 7 bucks and change for two day air mail, but there are other mailing options...different prices.
