I did a search and felt sure I would see some posts on the advantages/disadvantages of putting a fuel air separator on the fuel vent line. Does installling this separator help in any way. I looked through the internet and found conflicting information.
What's your advice.

I may be wrong, but I thought an air/fuel separator would stop the fuel from overflowing out the fuel vent. I had this happen to me when I had my boat stored in my garage with a full tank of gas. The gas ran out of the vent and down on my decals, doing them no good whatsoever. Apparently if no one else is having this problem I could have something else going on.

some fuel vent systems on boats are very poorly designed. I think some are a safety hazard and should be recalled. My Crestliner would do this unless I was very careful and filled it slowly. My Grady does not have this problem and can be filled normally just like a automobile.
Sometimes there is a kink in the vent line, other times I just think its a bad design.
I have never heard of this seperator, may be a good idea though.

Maybe a back flow preventer is what your thinkin. I too was thinking of them for my lund. I never did it for fear of them sticking and not having any ventalation. This could be the only problem I have with this boat, I too have removed the decal just below the vents. Check the lines to make shur there is no kinks or low spots in the lines. good luck.
