burns ditch report

went all over the lake today...lots of small icebergs and skim ice all over the place...actually went thru the skim ice on plane as almost no way to get back to the ditch from us steel landfill/lighthouse ....much of the shelf ice is breaking up and drifting out so be very careful out there....sand can actually almost submerge the ice and make it nearly invisible.....i fished the landfill and lighthouse w/o a hit....came back to the ditch at 10 am and decided to try the doughnut...i was the only boat at both areas as one crestliner saw all the ice i was dodging getting to the doughnut and turned around!...actually if you just go slow it is possible to get there w/o too much hassle.......the doughnut area was very dirty/murky and i did not get a hit there either....they say it'll be mid 60's this w/e...i gotta work!...steve

Haven't been on the site for quite some time, long enough that I forgot my old user name, doh. I'll be out saturday morning launching out of the ditch, if you see a black and white crestliner w/ wrap around console and a honda on the back, stop by and say hi. I'll post up a report that evening.

Good luck fishing this weekend.Hopefully the weather is not to bad.I personally don't think I will be out this weekend and if I do it will close and short.Let us know how you do.

It looks like we'll get rained on a bit, but as long as the thunder holds off we'll be just fine, I'll be curious what the winds do, it seems like it'll be mostly S, but that'll change 2 hours before we get out there with out my luck. Sunday looks to bring some big wind and rain so saturday will be the play. Good luck to anyone else who makes it out, we probably won't be able to make it on the water until 9:30 or so.

We definitely didn't make it out this morning. Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to make it out on the water til 11AM, and by that time the winds were picking up out of the north at a pretty good rate. Instead of driving an hour to get there and have to turn around, we elected to not go, got some other work out of the way instead.
