If I have a choice, what are the best noon phases for walleye or doesn't it make a diference?

According to data from my fishing log (I only went back 3 years), my best moon phase is 1st quarter followed closely by New moon. with full moon being the worst. This was based on % of fish caught per phase.
I have over 20 years of data but I only have the passed 3 years in the data base. I need to transfer the remaining 17+ years from a hand written log to my computer data base which will take a good deal of time.

Just curious. Is this fishing during the day, the night, or both?

Your ? got me thinking. I never made note of the moon phase in any of records. I did a quick search and found this page. http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/MoonPhase.php#y2007 After checking my really good days, I found that a lot were new moon to 1st quarter. Interesting, another thing to research.

Mostly between 5:00am and 10:00pm

I have 4 years of data, walleye fishing around 250 times a year. My data shows a slight difference but the difference is not statistically significant. Since it's not statistically significant I won't quote the difference. Doing that would make one look like it had some sort of mathematical edge. There might be one. I've just not found it in my fishing.

The best advice I can give is go every chance you get. It might be your best day on the water. The fish don't read this stuff.

WOW 250 times /year! You must fish more than some pro's. You on the tourney trail? I'd like it if I got to fish 1/10 that much each year.

No pro fishing. I'm retired and live just a skip from Fontana Lake, NC. I usually go mornings or evenings, stay 4-5 hours. Jigging is my game; no trolling, no live bait. It's quite a challenge, especially this time of year.

Good advice. You are one lucky guy being able to fish so much.

Bass on!
