i have problems with the slip hanging up my line when i cast my rigs...seems that if i use the little rubber jobbies or the string it will snag the line as i reel over the slip knott and then when i cast it will hang up and not go out...whats the trick?...just began slip bobber fishing last yr to avoid the gobies for perch and it was a riot...i used a 12 ft daiwa great lakes noodle with a super sensitive tip but a heavy shank/butt....have caught steelhead on this rod and the perch are really fun on this rig also because of the noodle tip...just have not figured out how to cast when the knott is covered...thanks...steve

Try to keep the stop bead hole just large enough to accommodate the line and yet slip smoothly. It will allow you to have a smaller stop-knot and reduce the line hang-ups while casting.

Trim away as much excess line from the stop knot as possible, this will also help out the snagging.

Spinning reels with larger spools will help especially long stroke reels or cross wrapping long stroke reels.

Hope this helps.
