I need some advice about slippin rivers with a jet. Anybody out there
fish rives with a jet? Here in Montana the Missouri gets as shallow as
8-10" no exageration. Would like to chat with any jet slippers.
thanks .

What do you need to know? I have a 18 hp jet out board (Johnson) on a 14 ft jon boat. I've run this setup for 7 years on the local rivers and it works well. Shoot me an email if you like.

I run a 16 ft jon boat with a Merc 20 jet. I mainly use it on the Susquehanna River and often run it in 8-10" of water. If you buy one, make sure you buy from a dealer that knows how properly hang the jet so the intake is at the proper level when compared the the bottom of the hull. Also, balance is very important and I suggest placing accessories in the boat (such as batteries) and dropping it into the water to see how level it sits. After you figure out the balance you can permanently mount everything (If you're buying a boat with lockers you may be limited to things like battery placement. That's why I love jon's matched up with jet drives). Let me know if you have any other questions: jebrabazon@yahoo.com
