Last week while presenting fishing seminars in Rogers and Owatonna, I was questioned about my favorite walleye lure colors. Many of the waters I fish are somewhat off-colored and chartruese and the firetiger pattern seem to be good in those conditions. In addition, many of "my lakes" have strong perch populations and these colors do a good job of mimicing that forage. What are some of your favorite colors/patterns?

I am a spinner rig fisherman and nothing is ever consistant. Thee years ago it was hot pink, last year, copper with a fish eye and hologram or whatever you call it. Normally it is a color I ran out of!

I agree w/ Mike and tend go with chartruese and firetiger, although a closr third is pink & white (fuzz e grubs and twisters). I have also had good sucess the last few years in the fall and winter with red, white, & blue fireball jigs. I use others but these are my first choices.

With me it really depends on what lake I'm fishing. One lake they prefer pink, other they prefer white and another prefers yellow or orange. For spinners, I have had great sucess with firetiger type colors on all waters. Just have to experiment and see what color the fish prefer on that particular water.

purple and pink can be good to. Like the other post said. Any body of water can have its own little nitch.
