My wife and I were thinking about going to Devils Lake and found Woodland Resort on the web. We're curious if anyone has been there and if so what are your opinions of the resort? Any thoughts/recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

Sorry! no report on woodland here but to help you further your search on DL try www.fishingbuddy.org and search favorite links for other resorts on DL or put your message on there as these are mostly local ND folks that have tried some of the resorts/campgrounds there.

Stayed there the last 2 yrs will be going again the end of march. The Bar,restaurant and bait shop were just rebuilt last year. Also a new motel and 2 new cabins. And it is centrally located on the lake.I will be going back to woodland.
We are going up there in May, but we'll be staying at the casino. Which is better?

I have not been to Woodland, nor the casino for that matter...but I remember reading somewhere that the casino is DRY = no booze at all. You may want to check into it if that will pose any probs with your group.

Depends on what you want. I just read in my old home newspaper, the Benson County Farmers Press, that the casino is adding a new high-grade resturant.
Unless things have changed in the last few years, the casino property is considered "dry" like the rest of the reservation. No alcohol on the gaming floor or dining facitities. Makes for a uniquely peaceful casino.

Stayed there last June, all the modern amenities you need, bar, restaurant, store, large campground, boat rentals. Very friendly place. You won't be disappointed. Who cares if the casino is "dry"?
But how is the walleye fishing on the devils lake? Looking to go summer where this spring. Thanks Tim

The walleye fishing is second to none. You can get fish with a variety of presentations.Trolling, bottom bouncers, slip bobbers, jigs and casting cranks.Lots of trees in the water. You won't be disappointed
