This is why I HATE the month of March. Just when I was thinking that it would be safe to sit out by the lake and watch the ice break up we're about to get dumped on with anywhere from 6" to 12" of snow. Goshdarnit! All I can do is keep telling myself that it isn't going to last much longer and soon the lakes will be open and I'll be sitting in my boat drowning minnows

COME ON SUN!!!!!

I'd like to know who took their boat out of storage last week and put the hex on the rest of us. I almost did, but fought off the erge. Maybe next week.

Hang in there it will be worth the wait!

I think the snow may be my fault. I purchased a Yamaha 30 last week and planned on doing some river fishing with it this weekend. Looks like that's out of the question. 7-11 inches expected in Western WI.

Lighten up, where do you think that water you fish on comes from? In SD we're always only one day from the next drought. (I would be happier if it were rain.)

I wished we were only getting 6-12. There predicting up to 18 inches in my area. I justed pulled my new 20 ft fisherman home 2 days ago and can't use it.

Yeah northern Il is really dodging a bullet with this one, I heard it could be pretty bad for you guys. All we are supposed to get is lots of rain. As if the Illinois River isn't high enough right now.

You think you have it bad, I towed 4 YES 4 boats home from Pierre for the boat show in Huron. They are now setting in the back yard with 5 inches of snow in them. But I guess that will keep me busy the rest of today, cleaning them out. Bring on spring

Back in mid February, I figured we were on pace for ice out in Mid/late March here in Minnesota. Then we got the cold snap, a little snow, and now a lot of snow. So much for that prediction.

I think the weatherman might actually be right with the snow predictions this time. I have a (usually) fool-proof formula for predicting snow amounts that is usually much closer to the actual amount. You just take the predicted snow range from WCCO, take the low end of that range, divide by two and that is the adjusted low end. Then take 1.5 inches from their low end prediction and that is the adjusted high end. For example, if the prediction is 8-10", the more likely amount is 4-6.5". The local weather folks seem to blow predicted snow amounts all out of whack.

It looks like my formula will be off this time. It looks like we actually might get dumped on.

Anyway you look at it, we are still within two months of the opener!

Hate to rub it in but I was out in my back yard in a short sleeved shirt. 62 but feels hotter w/ the sun so bright. In MA it has been a real mild year,.the lake near me usually has 2 feet of ice in mid Feb,...this year 1/2 of the lake was wide open at that time, It has felt like the year without a winter,...the snow plow came twice and two inches or so each time,..then it would be gone in a few days. Ponds and lakes wide open now,..Don't worry,..well get ours in due time!,..but it sure has been nice.
