Terrova won't deploy

Just installed a brand new Minnkota Riptide ST, the saltwater version of the Terrova. I could not get the motor to deploy from its cradle. I pressed the bar in and then down. The green system ready light goes on, but The motor is locked solid. What am I missing?

If when you tightened it down you may have twisted the base, loosen it up and see if it deploys, if it does you may have to shim the base so it doesn't twist when tightened down

I just installed a Terrova on my brothers boat. At first, it was very tight. I pulled the motor while standing on the ground and he presed the button and pushed. After doing this about 5 times, it loosened up a bit and can now deploy from the bow.

Best method is to push the lever down with one hand and hit the round motor housing with the palm of your other hand, then catch the shaft as the motor deploys. It took me a while to figure this out but they do deploy nicely and with minimal effort this way.
