Last fall I filled my fuel tank full before winterizing and put in Sta bill in the gas, ran the boat on the water for a while to blend everything then fogged the motor myself. I have a 2005 Evinrude Etec. This spring when I take the boat out should I put in any more/different sta bill or Evinrude 2 + 4 gas conditioner in the gas or just leave it.

Just my 1 cent worth, just take it out and run it. Stabil should do its job.

Run it as is- you'll be fine.

The way you described treating the fuel isn't optimal, but maybe it's just how you said it. A good way to apply a fuel stabilizer is to pour the stabilizer in the tank, then fill with fuel. The filling does the mixing of the stabilizer and fuel. Filling the tank and then adding stabilizer will result in a pocket of fuel that is highly enriched in stabilizer and the rest untreated. It's not easy to mix that up completely once the tank is full and your motor might not wind up with any stabilized fuel in it.

I run stabilizer in my fuel all summer, mixing in 5 gallon cans and transferring to the boat tank. If the boat has to sit for a month or two unused (like when the unexpected happens), no worries about fuel degradation. I've been stabilizing fuel for all my gas engines for several years now (except the car and truck) and I rarely have fuel problems with these engines anymore. Red or blue Stabil to treat 80 gallons of gas costs $10-11 (13-14 cents/gallon)- pretty cheap insurance.

The way they are making now adays, it starts to degrade after 30 days. I now run Stabil or Seafoam year round.

This year, I didn't fill my tanks. I added the stabil (pretty heavy) to what I already have. Then I will put in gas and more stabil this spring.

I run stabilizer and Yamaha ring free all year round. It may add 25 cents to each gallon of gas you use, but if it prevents any major problems it's well worth it. Gas ain't what it used to be. Over the years the price has gone up, and the quality has gone down.

You should be fine. Take a fuel sample in a glass jar and let it sit on the bench for a couple of minutes. You will be able to tell if there is any separation or water. We use Johnson 2+4 in everything at our store no matter the brand of motor. It is by far the best product we have found. You should use that insted of Stabil.

it's the evinrude fuel stabalizer. It;s hard to find in N. WI and even my evinrude dealer doesn't carry it. I ran some in my e-tec once. Didn't really seem to make any difference in anything. I have been told it's almost all alcohol and I'm not sure it does anything that sea foam or stabil won't do.
