: Flw or aim
flw/aim 03-17-2009, 03:48 AM I do not want to stir the pot but does anybody know the payouts on the Co side for AIM. I cannot find it on their web site. I have just received my income tax check an I want to sign up for either the FLW or AIM as a co. FLW has their payouts posted. I see that AIM is paying out prizes but what kind of prizes. or at least what is the value?
Thanks
Vikings Fan 03-17-2009, 06:42 AM "Trollin, trollin, trollin, keep them doggies trollin". Sounds like some of the lyrics to the old Rawhide show? Maybe close anyway. Then again maybe you are legitimate. If so, why don't you contact Aim with your request and then let the rest of us know.
I spoke to one of the AIM board members this morning and they have a board meeting scheduled pretty soon. He is going to bring this question up to the board, and that way they can get something put up on the AIM site to answer your question.
Watch the AIM site for those details soon.

S.U.F. 03-17-2009, 09:26 AM All you have to do is go on the AIM site and click on Kieth Kavajecz interview. It sounds like there is no pay out for the co side. They have a new wieght system. And to keep it honest they thought the best way is to make it so that the co angler wouldn't benifit from the wieght of the fish. But they did say there is going to be some great prizes for the co anglers.
Pretty sure the coangler prizes are going to be by the draw. No placing for the co's. This is actually a good idea. With no pressure to influence his place of finish, the co-angler is more of an observer and not so much a partner.
bbbbbbbbb 03-17-2009, 12:47 PM That way if you mess up with the net no harm to you because you dont fish for the money!
That's one way of looking at it! hehehe

NET.. What net..Net your own darn fish if you don't like the way i net um..im just an observer dat paid 250 bux to watch you fish and make all the money...heck they should be paying the co-angler (observer)....And i suppose they will have there hand out looking for gas money too..
DMChappy 03-17-2009, 09:08 PM Sound' s like AIM is dead in the water for Co-angler, We also Pay to Play. BY - By AIM
flw/aim 03-18-2009, 03:43 AM Viking I did send a e-mail to AIM Thurs of last week with no response. FLW responded on Fri. with an answer to a few more questions I had.

-for a start-up circuit that never has held a tourney (aim), it does kinda make my head spin about the costs for the rides ~ Heck, the well respected & est BASS Elite only charges their rides a 100 bucks for alot more offered :)
$100 gets you a minimum of two days as an observer with Elite anglers, 3 days if you are one of the first 50 to sign up. So its like a 2-3 day guide trip that you don't actually fish for $100 or like living a "Day on the lake" episode for 2-3 days
You will also get a gift pack (Jersey, hat, sponsor gifts) that are valued at more then $100
Sounds like observers will be outfitted with special cameras and cell phones to provide real time updates and coverage that will be used for online coverage during the tournament.

No problem then because co riders are not allowed to touch the net.

Where does it say that in the rules?
8. COMPETITION:
i. AIM Pro Anglers agree to use any and all official equipment provided by or required by the AIM
Pro Walleye Series™. This equipment may include official AIM rulers and cameras. Such
equipment may have to be purchased at an additional cost from AIM or a designated vendor as
needed.
ii. AIM contestants may not enter tournament waters to locate fish or potential fishing waters after
the pre-tournament Rules Meeting, except during competition hours. After the start of the pretournament
Rules Meeting, AIM contestants are allowed to fish in tournament waters ONLY
during tournament fishing hours.
iii. Anglers traveling by water to launch ramps, marinas, or lodging facilities must proceed directly to
their launch or slip location.
iv. On-the-water testing of engines or equipment after the pre-tournament rules meeting is allowed
only with permission from the Tournament Director. No Exceptions.
v. Tournament water boundaries shall be established by the Tournament Director for each
tournament any water within these boundaries posted "Off-Limits" or "No Fishing" by state or
federal agencies will be OFF-LIMITS. Only that water open to ALL public fishing will be
considered tournament waters. All angling must be done from the boat.
vi. After the start of the pre-tournament Rules Meeting, AIM Co-Anglers are prohibited from sharing
fishing information, including fishing spots, methods, or fishing tackle, with AIM Pro Anglers.
Violations will result in the disqualification of the Co-Angler and the Pro Angler who uses this
information. NO EXCEPTIONS.
vii. Prior to each day's start, each boat MUST be given an inspection check by a tournament official.
Inspection will include operable marine band radio and operable kill switch.
viii. Each boat will be given a “boat board” which remains with the boat for the duration of the event.
This boat board has a number which must be displayed upon the request of tournament officials
and at each take-off and check-in.
ix. Competitors must leave from and return to official checkpoints by boat.
x. There shall be only one official point for take-off in the morning and check-in in the afternoon;
points which shall be designated at the Rules Meeting. At the time of take-off, all competitors
and their boats shall be in full conformity with all rules set forth by the Tournament Director.
xi. Both competitors must remain in contact with the boat at all times except:
◦ In case of an emergency, competitors may be removed from their boat to a rescue
boat, including non-competitors.
◦ In case of a mechanical breakdown (see rule 9)
xii. Partners must remain in sight of each other, except in the event of a needed restroom break or
fuel stop, when one contestant is allowed to leave the boat at a time, upon which all fishing must
cease until partners are back together in the boat.
xiii. During tournament fishing hours, AIM contestants must not solicit, share, or receive fishing
information pertaining to method or type of presentations being used, lure selection or color, and
location of fish or type of water being fished, with other AIM contestants, or other noncontestants,
excluding permitted communications with their boat partner for the day.
xiv. No one is allowed to “hold” a fishing location for an AIM contestant under any circumstance.
xv. The number of permitted fishing rods is dependent on the local and state regulations. In no
instance will more than two lines or two lures per angler be permitted. A lure is defined as having
one or more hooks, and does NOT include weights (snap weights, trolling weights, bottom
bouncers, etc.) Unless state regulations are more restrictive, a lure can be no longer than 12
inches long.
xvi. All fish must be caught live on a hook and line in a conventional sporting manner. Anyone guilty
of snatching or snagging fish (that is, not hooked in the head per state regulations) will have their
daily catch disqualified.
xvii. During competition Pro Anglers will have the ultimate responsibility for the operation of the boat.
Each Pro must observe safe boat conduct, no wake zones, and all local navigation rules. All AIM
participants must demonstrate boating courtesy at all times.
xviii. Co-Anglers are allowed to operate the boat – at the direction of the Pro Angler – while netting
fish, fighting fish, or handling fish, in emergency situations, and in the process of loading and
unloading from trailers.
xix. Towing boats on trailers during tournament hours is prohibited, except at the direction of
tournament officials.
xx. During the competition hours of the tournament, a contestant may not use a CB radio, VHF
marine-band radio, cellular phone, text messaging, instant messaging, or any other form of
communication or boat tracking device for any reason (except in the case of emergency) and in
particular for the purpose of locating or catching fish or locating other fishermen. Competitors are
permitted to transmit by radio or telephone only in the event of an emergency. Contestants
should monitor Channel 16 for weather updates and alerts. In the case of emergency, call 911
first, and then notify AIM tournament staff!
xxi. Active radar may only be used in emergencies for navigating. No binoculars are permitted in
boats during competition hours.
xxii. A designated tournament official must be granted access to the Pro Angler's boat at any time
during the competition days. Failure to grant such access may result in immediate
disqualification.
xxiii. Exact check-in location and check-in times will be announced at the Rules Meeting. It is the Pro
Angler's responsibility to confirm check-in times for their flight each day on the daily pairings.
Boats which are not off-plane and in line at the official check-in area at the appointed time shall
lose all credit for that day's catch. There shall be no excuse for tardiness, and in no case shall a
competitor be allowed to make up "lost time."
xxiv. All boats are required to check-in with AIM officials at the end of each day. Boats shall be
identified by means of their boat board. After proper recognition at the check-in point,
competitors will be allowed ample time to proceed to the weigh-in site. All fishing must cease
upon check-in. Partners must stay together through the “weigh-in” process.
xxv. If a question arises about conformation to the tournament rules, contact a tournament official.
no net 03-20-2009, 09:22 AM has nothing to do with the rules just the bad netting skills shown by the co compaliners

Is it on their site? If not, the answer is, no.

pay or go home 03-21-2009, 10:02 PM You have to pay if you want to play get a clue! ! !
beaboaterthen 03-22-2009, 12:35 AM I've got a great idea for you. If you want to compete for prizes/$$$, there's still room for you on the boater side. If you want to learn from the best, fish hard, learn new waters, fish for a few days cheaper than 4 hour guided trips, why not enter as a co . I have no problem with the aim co-angler deal (and if you do, don't enter). Even if you're not taking home prizes, if you pay attention and try to learn from it, you're not going home empty handed. Looking forward to fishing with these guys!
guest 03-22-2009, 02:06 AM $250 to watch someone catch fish, uh I watch people catch fish all the time for FREE- their usually the boat next to me.

:funnypost: But I need to clarify for others who may not realize your post is just mean to to be funny.
Co's on the AIM circuit get to fish too. The only thing that is different is the prize structure. They do a drawing for the Co's prizes rather than give them out in the order of how a Co finished in the event.

Any word from AIM yet on co-angler prizes?
This came out on their site on 3/21/09:
http://www.aimfishing.com/display.asp?aid=2107
"Co-anglers will not be competing for prizes based upon their placement in the event. Instead Co-anglers will be awarded prizes by drawings at the daily weigh-ins. These prizes are being contributed by AIM Sponsors - both national companies and those companies local to the tournament sites."
