I need to exchange my Johnny Ray mount for a RAM. The Ray mount I have came with a base that allows the Lowrance cables to be routed out the hole through a slot in the base. I would like to do a similar setup with the Ram but can't find a base that they make that does this. Am i missing it or do you Ram users do something else? Thanks.

On my Ram mounts I have had another hole for the wires. I attached the ball base to the dash and then hooked them up to the unit. You can get plastic or metal covers for the hole the wires come out of.

Use a clam shell vent. Mount the RAM base, directly behind it drill the hole for your wires. I like the stainless clam vent, they make plastic as well, I just think the stainless ones look better.

Are you in a big hurry, can you wait a couple days. I've got some buddies in the twin cities that extruded some aluminum that is the same size as the Ram base. It is kind of shaped like a "C" and maybe 1/2" thick. It has supports so that the screws can go through it as well. I think I bought 5 or 6 of them from him, they are black aluminum. I can get in touch with him and see if he still has these, otherwise I am sure that I still have 5 or 6 of them in my garage. Where are you from. Shoot me an e-mail at npaa919@yahoo.com.
