All of the recent potsts about bobber rods got me thinking about the bobber itself. I took a good look at the slip bobbers in my tackle box the other day and noticed that most of them have a grove worn in the plastic tube from the line. Does anybody make a bobber with a hard plastic or stainless steel tip? What kind of slip bobber do most of you use? How can I modify a bobber to prevent line wear?

I use the "Blue Fox" brand lighted slip bobbers. They have worked well for me. Rather than changing bobber styles back and forth for daytime vs night use, I just use the Blue Fox night bobbers all the time now. I can get an entire night and then some on one battery or several partial night trips. Of course, the battery is flipped around and not in use for daytime trips.

Don't mean to sound too concieted, but I truly believe that I make the most reliable, fastest, finest slip bobber on the planet. It's specifically made to resist the damage you describe, Walter, and the problems that go along with it.
