I just purchased a new 150 Suzuki 4 stroke for my 618 Ranger. My question is what hole did you mount your motor in and what Prop are you running? I know Ty runs a 14.5 X 25 that he likes.Any input would be great thanks

I talked to Ranger and had two different answers One said Three holes down then another said four Holes down. The problem is the 618VS is discontinued and they don't sell a lot of 150 Suzuki's. If you have a 618 VS with a 150 Suzuki I would love to hear from you.The motor gets installed Fri. thanks

Every boat is a bit different.
Every time that you try a different prop, it is possible that the motor needs to be a bit higher or lower to maximize the performance.

Rather than just using a fixed position - have a short setback jackplate put on the boat and motor.
Evern if you don't want to spend the money on a electric hydralic jack plate- put on a manual jack plate. A manual jackplate is relatively inexpensive and it allows you to raise or lower the motor with the turn of a wrench. The use of a plate will allow you to dial in the motor height for the way that the boat is loaded, the water being run, and the particular prop being used.

For example:

The typical manual jack plate is about $300.
Or,
The hydralic jack plates run about $900.

Although it is a few $$, the ability to optimize your boat / motor performance will likely be worth it.

Take care
