ok. do i just need the key fob? or do i have to add some kind of receiver to the motor itself? sorry, but i'm new to this wireless stuff. TIA..

you by a kit. The reciever part bolts to the motor cover.

You remove the right side cover bolts on the Minn Kota and then put the new one OVER the old one and install the longer bolts that come with the kit you buy.

I put one on yesterday and used it today, very pleased with the results. Nice $250 up-grade. As far as hooking it up follow the instructions. The front part snaps right in and the back piece, which I believe is the compass part has three holes that has a place to fasten it.
