I need some help, I plan on installing 2 filter units, 1 for the main motor and 1 for the kicker. There are 3 feed lines from the gas tank, 1 feeds the kicker and the other 2 feed the valve on the rear port side (main/reserve switch) and then goes to the main motor. The 1 for the kicker seems pretty stright foward but how do I deal with the 2 lines going to the valve. I really don't want to add a third filter for the reserve line.

Any Ideas, thanks in advance.

Put the filter after the valve, in other words, from the transom fitting to the filter, then to the motor. Leave the lines from the tank to the valve as they are.

You can also use a filter kit that allowed you to run 2 motors on the same filter. This is what I do.

Therre is 2 IN & 2 OUT

Thanks for the replies. HRG, that is a good idea but the only problem is that there is no room to mount the filter assembly because the kicker is in the way. To provide a little more info, the boat is Lund 1775 pro v with a Yamaha 115 and a T8. I was planning to mount the filters under the floor just behind the gas tank.

Andre, if I run both lines in and out of the filter and by chance I have to switch the valve over to the reserve wouldn't it suck air from the main pickup?

Guest,
Not sure which unit you're looking at, but I used to have a Racor #120R-RAC-01, which was a little shorter than some others, and fit nicely on my Explorer transom as shown. Maybe on the opposite side from the T-8?
