I have a new motor coming with my 18 ft pontoon. I am really not into racing as you can see from the rig, but I do have grandkids and such that would like to do some tubing. Is there any reason at all to look at a different prop from the aluminum that comes with it? I know that I want an extra as I don't have a trolling motor, so I wonder if I should get a direct replacement or if I should upgrade to stainless?

Thanks for any insight.

Stainless steel is more durable will last a very long time. A stainless will help with cavitation that pontoons usally have. But for most cases we prop pontoons with aluminum. Aluminum props for your motor a under $100.00 in most cases, stainless start around $200.00. They are now making 4 blade aluminums that perform pretty good on pontoons.
