Was looking at ther AIM site and see they have six trails listed at this point. Could there really be only six trails taking advantage of the Championship opportunity? What am I missing? Why would a trail like the MWS not be participating?

Don't know for sure but it could have something to do with the AIM championship being fairly early? I know the MTT championship isn't util late September and we don't name a team of year until all the points are counted....Again, I don't know, just an idea.

I would think the Sanctioned Circuits would want there stuff on there as soon as possible so they could help fill their own fields. That being said, I can think of 10-12 that I know are involved that don't have their logo on there.
Fish on!

I hope they have more than the six showing on their web site. You would think they would just list them if they do not have a specific logo. I sent a request for a list will see if there is any response.

To date, there are about 20 tournament series that have accepted the invitation to send their "Team of the Year" to the 2009 AIM International Walleye Championship in September. Not all of these series have an official website, or a logo. In addition, there is a delay between when they confirm their participation and when the website is manually updated.
Just to be clear, there is no cost to the tournament series to participate. These invitations are extended to create an added incentive to participate in the "qualifying tournaments". The teams that are invited will need to pay the entry fee to the AIM Championship (minus the $250 Non-Member fee - which is AIM's contribution to the participating series.)
Since most series are managed by a committee of volunteers there is an understandable time lag when they are offered this new opportunity. There is also no pressing deadline, since the cutoff for entries is not until August 3, 2009.
If you know of a series that has NOT received the invitation to the 2009 AIM International Walleye Championship, please have them contact me directly. I have found that the contact information for many series is not quite up to date! In addition, I have been contacted by a representative of three separate tournaments that want to "band together" to form a series that can send a "Team of the Year" to the Championship!
Stay tuned for more updates!
