i have been using trilene xt for many years with great success and minimal troubles trolling for walleyes and everything else. but the line has sooo much stretch that i wanted to switch to something of todays tech. i don't like to troll with the braids because of slipping out of planer board releases. i thought that the new copolymeres with less stretch would be perfect. the pline with the florocoating over the copoly seems like the best of both worlds since all the lakes around here are crystal clear. has anybody here used this line and any troubles with breakoffs or knot slippage? does it last as long on the real or does it detereate fast? thanks for any info. jeff

I have used p-line and I really like it, it is a high quality line for a lot less money.

I use P-line on my spinnning rods and bait casting rods because it handles the zebra's in Lake Erie so much better than mono/fireline and I get 2-3 seasons out of it. No stretch is also a positive with p-line. Mono deteriots (sp) to fast and the memory on the line is frustrating. Also great for ocean fishing. I like fireline for trolling and rap them around the clips once or twice so they don't slip on the boards.

I have tried Sensation(don't like how it ties knots), Gamma(like winch cable), Suffix Elite(same as gamma), Stren Magnathin(thin diameter, 6lb breaks easily needed to step up to 8lb), Spiderwire Supermono XXX(horrible knot strength), Pline Flouroclear and Pline Cx Premium on my rigging and jigging rods. Pline Cx Premium is by far my favorite. It spools up without twisting and performs flawlessly on the reel(stradic). It has a little stretch but it doesn't bother me. Still sensitive and helps keep walter hooked up. I havn't had any problems with abrasion or line breaking with 6lb test. I use the clear flourescent when I want to see the line and the moss green when I want more stealth.

Since I switched from Mono to Power-Pro braid long ago, all my leaders have been P-Line fluorocarbon leader material...

I have used p line fluoro-clear for the last 3 years and love it. it still has some stretch but less than most mono. You may want to try Vicious fluorocarbon. I spooled up a couple of my rods last year and it handles nice
