(Can't believe I'm admitting this)...I've never used an Erie Dearie. How do they compare with Carolina rigs or Bottom Bouncing as far as ease of use and effectiveness?
Or, are they worth trying?

Never used them before last summer. We learned rather quickly. 3 Week ends full of Fishing fun. A good active way to fish for eyes.

I love using them on the river by anchoring on the edge of the current, tipping it with a minnow, flip it out up stream into the current and slowly retreiving it back to the boat so it works fairly close to the bottom. Caught many a nice eye on them. Never used them in lakes though, they just seem like a little too much hardware for the finicky fish to me.
