I am in the middle of replacing my port side counsel on my '04 1800 PRO V. Both sides have cracked. The port side counsel cracked under warrenty and was replaced by the dealer. It even took them a few tries to get everything to line up. I have several C clamps and my wife assisting me with lining up the top, overlap and bottom seal with the counsel.
I am not surprised that the first set cracked. The windshield bottom does not really mesh well with the formed counsel. The worst part is on the side, almost a 1/4" gap. I could tighten the screws up to remove the gap but I think this would stress the counsel and it may crack again. I plan on putting an extra layer of rubber weather stripping in to seal this area. It is not easy to find black rubber weather stripping. Has anyone else had this problem installing a windshield? How did you fix it?
