New to this site so be gentle. I bought a hour meter for my 96 Mariner 60. Looks to have a "+" and "-" wire hook up. I'm suspose to bring it in for a guy to do the install, but hey... its only 2 wires. I'm guessing they come off the tach. Can anyone give me some help on how to hook this thing up?

The - wire would go to battery ground. The + wire would go to any hot wire that is hot when motor is running or switch is on. If you round it to the switch and leave the key on the meter will keep running until the battery runs out.

So with that, i'm thinking I'll wire it to the tach. There is "ignition", "ground", and "sending" wires on the Tach. I'm thinking the hot lead to hook to the meter would be the "sending". Am I right? (1997 Mariner 60 ELPTH)

I would think that it would be the ignition wire, that wire would be hot.

My fault you are right. Ignition is really what I meant.
