Guys I bought a 3' shakespeare marine antenna #5241 and a uniden solara radio and was wondering what kind of range I could expect from a this 3' antenna. Also, what channel on erie do most guys run on for normal chatter??

About 20 ft LOL, I have the little giant and I hate it, I got 10x the distance out of an 8 fter on my last boat, I have one with a new stainless mount I really need to hook up, unless I'm nite fishing on home waters with friends I don't even use it, the chatter is so annoying and I hear alot of the same guys blabbering all day, with as many guys fishing erie it get annoying quick.

I have the same radio and it works well. I HAD the same antenna and it was worthless. I upgraded to the 5 footer and wish i had gone with the 8 footer. The 5 foot antenna is much much better than the 3 footer but a friend of mine has the same one in the 8 foot version and the range is impressive.
