I dont know how many of you on WC are from colorado; but we just got a MAJOR cold snap involving a close to 50 degree temp drop and 14" of snow. Got any tips (beyond the avarage fish bait slow type advice)?

The surface water temp on the lake I intend to try was 44 when we checked it 2 nights ago, so I'm not sure how much the temp will have changed more than 2-3 feet below the surface. The eyes (thought not bass and trout) were already being quite sluggish and hard to entice into biting.

Any advice??

Glad to hear that massive weather change didn't hurt your fishing any, congratulations on going when many would had not "bothered" , using the change as an excuse !

I've used scent and had great success with it... I use Dr. juice walleye scent 1-DROP on a harness blade and rub it between my fingers on the blade and down the crawler and up the line lead about two feet. AND TROLL SLOWWWWWWWWWWWW! JUST SO THE BLADE SPINS UP AND THEN I WOULD LET IT DROP DOWN AFTER IT STARTS SPINNING BY SHUTTING THE ELECTRIC OFF. When the blade starts flopping to almost a stop (watch your rod-tip) kick the electric on again and spin it up... I found them to be very aggressive doing this... I haven't had much luck with this later than post spawn... Paul, Michigan

Simular to rabbit's post... I went from dipping jigs into Fish Formula II shad to adding a shaved piece of Gulp to my jigs in below 45-50 degree water.
