hooking 2 units together

I have a 522 on the dash and put a 510 on the bow.
What are the steps I need to do to get the 510 to display the 522 tranducer info?
Does the 522 need to have the power on to display sonar on the 510?
I do have a transducer on my trolling motor just wondering if this would be better?

get an ethernet cable, and connect it to the yellow plugs on
the back of each unit. Then you will see a new menu option
that will give you a choice of transducers.

so the menu just comes up when you plug the cable in?

yes, and it will go away if you unplug it.

With an Ethernet cable between two units, a
line will be added to the menu screen "sonar Source"
