Just got my new motor and running well break-in period just wondering if anyone else has one and what size prop your running. Motor is on a 16-6 lunker LTD. Dealership gave me a 10 5/8 w/12 pitch and 10 5/8 13 pitch. I don't have a tach installed started with the 12 during breack in period today. Just looking for some info? Thanks Eric :howdy:

Why don't you have a tach?? If new, should have come standard with a digital tach/ oil, cooling and trim indicators. ( They used to come standard anyway). You probably should not run without it,,,but this may help. ...

I have an F40 on a 2001 Lund 1650 Rebel-V,probably close to the same weight and load as your Alumacraft. I use a 11 5/8 Diameter 11 pitch and it's perfect. Good hole shot and right up at max RPM of 6K .Top speed 30-32 mph. Good performance running empty or loaded.

I have had a 13 pitch on it a couple of times. Lost some top end RPM, but did not loose any top speed. But really hurt throttle response and holeshot, especially if had another person with me,and took a bit of time to get to top speed. Was not a good prop for it,but ok as a spare in a pinch.

Your 12 pitch will probably be real close and I cannot imagine you would be going over max RPM with it,but a tach would really tell you best.

I have a f40 and run it on a 17' Lund. I run the 10 5/8 x 12 p and it performs the best. If you want to keep your rpm's down during break in I think the 13p would run at lower rpm's.
