I have the Lowrance X-15, and the screen has some kind of film on it that doesnt allow me to see what is on the screen. I guess what Im asking is if ther is anything that will clean the screen so I can see what is on it? Ive tried somethings but ther not working. I have to wet the screen with spit to be able to see anything. Thanks for the any help.

Are you talking about water spots? or something else? For water deposits a 50/50 mix of water and vineger will make the screen look new... Ken

I had a similar problem with a 350A years ago and Lowrance suggested I use a plastic polish to clean it up. I used Meguires (got it in the auto parts section of a store) and it worked great and was a permanent fix. Might want to doublecheck with them though as the x-15 has a different screen than my 350A had.

Plastic polish should work. I used it on my old X70

Note: do not use cleaners with amonia on your screens.

Don't mean to insult you by asking, but you're talking about debris/oil/etc correct, and not a screen protector (plastic static film) that most units would ship with and should be removed?

Hunter, correct. I took plastic protective cover off. Thanks everyone for your response, I will give everyone a try until one works.
