I have been thinking about buying a Lowrance X-15 and I have a question. If I buy just the depthfinder part now, before the WAAS units come out, will I be able to put a WAAS GPS package in it with little or no trouble?
Also, if I buy the depthfinder first, how difficult is it to add the GPS later? I do want the X-15 depthfinder, but I am not sure of whether to go with the X-15 combo or the X-15 with a Garmin GPS. I figure I'll buy the dpthfinder first and figure the rest out later.
Thanks,
Pete

Don't know how difficult it is to add the gps on later. I imagine it would be easy to do.
I am putting on a seperate Garmin gps unit-the map 76--so I can have the handheld for other uses. Also if the locator goes bad I will not have both units out of service-or vice versa.
Something for you to consider-I know a lot of pro's keep seperate units; or pack along back-up units.

I just bought the Lowrance LCX 15-MT, very impressed with the display.
I'm waiting for the new WAAS updated GPS Mapping Kit, they should be shipping around the 25th of March. From what I understand there will be a software update for the fishfinder, all you will have to do is plug in the gps receiver and your good to go.

I would like to buy the x-15mt. I guess my question is that it seems
like you would be paying for something you aren't using if this unit
comes with the gps capability and you aren't going to use it? It would
be nice if you could by the x-15 for less and not have the gps option.
Maybe you can but I really don't want the 71 or 91 by lowrance.
Make sense?
