Bob,

A few weeks ago on your show you discussed an attachment for your truck that guides the trailer hitch onto the ball. What was the name/manufacturer of that product?

Thanks for watching Fishing the Midwest, and thanks for the question.

It's called the Couple-Mate and is made by the DuraSafe Company. durasafelocks.com It's a good product.

I've seen those, and they do work. I have a Tahoe and my trailer is tandem axel, hard to move by hand. I bought a back up camera for my truck. Cost was just under 95.00, and now backing up and hooking up is a snap.

I was thinking of the same, back up camera.
What kind did you get and what do you think of it?
Thanks.

Yep, that's the one. Keep up the good work. You should come up to Bago sometime.

I forget the brand name. One day I was walking in Costco and saw it. A snap to install, and it worked great. Actually right now its sitting on my work bench. I just bought a new Tahoe and it came with a built in back up camera. Pretty neat, when I put the truck in reverse a picture pops up in the rear view mirror. Before the camera, I rigged a mirror. It sat on the front of the trailer and I angled it so I could see it from the drivers seat and then see the hitch. Only problem with that was I had to get fairly close before I could see anything.

Thanks, I have been doing some research and I may get one this week.
Now I am trying to find the best one for the money.
I will use it just for backing up to the trailer.

MIght be a silly question, but doesnt the whole back end of those vehicles open up, then you could turn around and look and back right up to the trailer?

I have used the Couple-Mate for a number of years and I really like it. I too have a dual trailer for my Ranger and it really helps, just back up to the trailer, tongue gets in the VEE and it guides the tongue right to the ball.

If you are interested, I will sell you mine for 50 bucks, plus S+H..
As to opening the hatch, the rear seat block the view. PLus by the time you open the hatch, lay the seats down, with the camera you will already be hooked up.

I didnt think about the seats. When I had my Explorer I usually had the seats folded down. (no kids at home anymore)
