I have heard good things about Prestige trailers. But a local dealer told me he likes trailmaster better. He also sells Prestige but has problems with their support. He also said they were closed for a while because of lack of orders. Today he heard from his Yarcraft Rep that they were filing . Cabelas no loger sells them and switched to Phoenix, any one heard of Phoenix trailers.

I love my prestige trailer - they are built like a tank. Have know of them in the past and just bought a new one this year. From what I heard, it was an issue on Cabelas' side that resulted in their not carrying Prestige anymore (I spoke with Cabelas and Prestige). I too was told to look at Phoenix, but have never seen their product. I liked the 6-bunk layout of the Prestige better than the 4-bunk on the Phoenix. Also, Prestige has torsion axles standard (don't believe they are standard with Phoenix).
I did speak with the people out at Phoenix and they were very helpful and responsive. I just didn't want to go with something I had never seen before. For me the trailer is just as important as the boat. I've had poor trailers and really good trailers and there is no substitute for the peace of mind a solid trailer provides me. I am always surprised at how carefully people choose their boats and then take whatever trailer "happens" to be available.
Sorry I can't provide more concrete info on the Phoenix. However, I did do a search on this site when I was preparing to buy my new boat this year. There is some info on Phoenix. From what I read, it sounded like it was a well-built and solid trailer. They also custom fit the trailer to the boat.

I too love my Prestiege Trailer (BTV). Sad to say I think they're gone. I tried calling on 4-6-09 and the message said "We are temporarly closed due to lack of orders and will reopen April 6." I tried calling on the 7th and the phone is disconnected. Their website is also gone. Too bad they made a great product!
