I have a powerdrive v2 40 trolling motor. Had it for a year now and every once in a while it will stop turning to the left. Everything else works, just wont turn left. Any ideas on what it might be. I took it to a repair place and they couldnt get it to fail so they think nothing is wrong with it. They wont warranty it unless it fails. So not sure what to do. Sent minn kota and email and never heard from them. Has anyone else had this problem? i have also rewired it twice and it has good connection and a fully charged battery. Thanks todd

Mine did that and it turned out to be the foot pedal module gone bad. Some people have said that at times the contacts in the foot pedal plug are dirty and need to be cleaned. Others said that they cleaned the contacts actually in the module and that worked for them. I tried these ideas and they didn't help. A new module fixed the problem. I should say that my issue was that the motor NEVER turned right (it was not intermittent like your issues - maybe that means yours can be fixed with one of the above ideas).
I now have a cable-drive Maxxum Pro, so no more worries with bad modules. I also do much more spot-on-spot drop-shot/jig fishing so I appreciate the responsiveness of the Maxxum.
Good luck.
