I was wondering if anyone recommends a certain Minn Kota bow mount quick release for a Terrova. My motor is bolted to the boat and I would like to cover it without it on. I had a mka-32 on my pro-v and it worked really slick. This is my first Ranger. What do you guys do with your setup. Thanks everyone.

The MKA-32 is what we use with our Terrovas on our Rangers.

Did you install it yourself, any tips? I am capable of almost anything but like I said this is my first Ranger. I know they have a reinforced bow. an you see this when deciding where to drill holes? Thanks Juls

The MKA-32 is a great mount. Other options are the MKA-21 or MKA-16-02. The 32 and 21 are much better options in my opinion if you are going to cover your boat, I've seen some damage to boat covers from the corners on the 16-02 bracket.
Mounting the bracket and the motor is not complicated, but you need to be sure you have it in the right position before you drill the holes. Check (and double-check) the position, both with the motor in the deployed and the stowed positions. That is critical to getting it in the correct location.
Use large fender washers and locknuts, and you're good to go. Good luck.
Ooops - forgot to mention there is a right and wrong way to drill holes in fiberglass. Don't just drill them like you would through wood, that will cause issues with your gel coat. Instead, cover the location with masking tape before drilling, and drill through the masking tape to prevent gel coat cracks. It's also a good idea to chamfer out the hole with a chamfer, or with a slightly larger drill bit used in REVERSE.

Hopefully your holes will match up and you can put it in the existing bolt holes. If not, you need to drill new ones, which is no big deal. Just make sure that when the bowmount is deployed it is at least an inch to an inch 1/2 away from the rub rail. Another thing to watch for is the angle. You want to make sure that it's angled just enough that when you are at a steep launch, the bowmount won't hit hard on the trailer cradle (not sure what that thing is called...it's the rubber thing the nose sits on)...either launching or loading. If the bowmount is straight off the bow, it will hit. The Terrova's sit further off the bow than any other bowmount, as you probably already know...so, that is why it is an issue to watch for and correct.
Rick and I did ours, so if we can do it... anyone can. :)
The plate that screws to the TM itself is self explanatory...there is only one way to attach it.
It's really simple, but it's best if you have someone to help you hold it while you're deploying it and setting it to postion, etc. It's not a one person job.

The area he would be drilling through is covered in rubber, so that isn't necessary.
