I just bought a ST.Croix Legend Tournament Walleye rod TWS68MXF. What reel should I put on it? I do alot of river jigging.

Lightweight, sensitive rod? Balance it with a quality lightweight reel. 8 ounces or so.

Cabela's has the Quantum Tour Edition reels marked down from 239 to 119. I haven't used this particular reel yet (just bought two tho) but I have a couple other quantum spinning reels that have performed well and held up for several years. All of my other spinning reels are Shimano Stradics and Symmetres--both of which are good reels and have held up well for many years.

I really like abu garcia reels. i have them on most of my rods and have never had a single problem. and i think they are a good reel for the money if you compare them to other reels in their class

I can't believe no one has suggested shimano, so I will. I'm a fan of the Stradic, I have a couple and they are probably my favorite spinning reels.

All good suggestions. Pflueger's President is also growing in popularity. I've been happy with the two I've purchased. The bail assembly has lasted longer than my Shimano spinning reels.

Just put a Pflueger Sumpreme on a St Croix myself. So far I am very happy with that combination.

i too put pflueger supreme's on 2 of my 7' avids. these reels rock! very lite and smooth, not to mention a beautiful look. i went with the 8030s and you can find them for around 80 bucks on the net.

Diawa, Shimano and Pflueger are the reels that I like.

Diawa is the brand I favor most for no particular reason.

For price Pflueger is hard to beat.

Pflueger Supreme 8030 MG (7.4 oz.) on a St. Croix Legend Elite 6"6" MLF (3.0 oz.). An extremely light weight and sensitive combo. I looked at the Diawa Fuego and the Shimano Stradic MgFB. Diawa was nice, Shimano was too small in the 1000 series and a tad too big in the 2500 series (in my opinion). It was then a toss up between the Supreme or the Fuego, and I chose to save $150.00 and go with the Amercian made Pflueger. Tight Lines

I have the same St.Croix rod and have the same Quantum PT 10 reel on it.
You made a good choice.
