I have three of them on my boat that I purchased three years ago. When I installed them, I did not have them wired correctly. The book took me awhile to figure out what I did wrong. There are two red wires that must be wired in both grounds. you may want to check the wiring first, that is the most common problem. I also had a bad T-connector but that went bad later after using them. Those are the only two problems I've had with the 25's.

I just went thru the same thing last week. My unit was 2 years old, Just didn't get gps signal when I took the boat out this spring. I went to the Lowrance site and printed off the soft reset from their trouble shoot page and tried it. Also used a meter to check plug for proper voltage. I then called them ( put it on speaker phone and be patient... about 25 minutes) They took the serial #'s and for $112.45 are sending me a replacement. I thought that wasn't too bad. You may get one under warranty if it's new. Good Luck...

If this is the first time you have installed a X25c, you have to have both the head unit and the GPS receiver hooked up to 12VDC power. Install a switch between power and the GPS receiver because it is powered all of the time and will kill your battery if you do not disconnect the power from it.

Had the unit installed by "professionals" and after reading the posts and ramming myself under the dash to cut all the zip ties I found that the PUCK was never connected!!!! Works like a charm. Thanks again to all the people on this site as the installers really crapped the bed on this one!!

People useually get a professional installer to rig their boat. Most anyone who is remotely handy and can read can install these electronics easy.
Chances are that you will do a better job on your boat than someone else who gets the money and doesn`t care about your boat.
